Fisherman at Wood Islands
I met this fisherman at the Wood Islands Wharf mending his traps during a Plein Air Event. During our conversation he talked about the season's profitability, the gas price, and the other expenses. There was a rhythm to his movements, as he scraped the barnacles off. Each time he did a complete circle around repeating with each trap and then carried it to his Fishing Shed for storage. Each time I had to wait for the position of his body from behind to fill in the details. This was an amazing insight into the work involved in this trade.
